Founded in 1875, Jefferson Parish (JP) is comprised of six municipalities and the unincorporated area of Metairie. The JP Department of Inspection and Code Enforcement (DICE) is the regulatory arm for development within unincorporated areas of JP. DICE includes the enforcement of building (both structural and zoning), electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and gas codes. DICE’s recent history includes the creation and growth of its Property Maintenance and Zoning Section, which is charged with ensuring the exterior maintenance of developments to preserve property values and our community’s quality of life.
DICE offers accessible offices with free parking on each bank of the Parish. The Westbank office is located at 400 Maple Avenue in Harvey. The Eastbank office is located in the Joseph S. Yenni Building at 1221 Elmwood Park Blvd. in Jefferson.
The Department’s contribution to the success of the Parish is largely a service to those who have invested or who intend to invest in the parish.
