Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans

Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) New Orleans is one of the most unusual military air facilities in the United States. It is the first in the country that was planned, built and now functions as a joint air reserve training center.

NAS JRB New Orleans mission statement is “Our mission is to provide an effective training and operational environment to support the fleet, the fighters, and the families of the active duty, reserve, and the National Guard components who live, work, and train aboard the base.”

The mission of the Navy Reserve is to provide strategic depth and deliver operational capabilities to the Navy and Marine Corps team, and to the Joint forces, in the full range of military operations from peace to war.

The Navy Reserve consists of 56,254 officers and enlisted personnel who serve in every state and territory as well as overseas as of June 2023.[2]
